Nobody buys backup until the week after they needed it. The usual sequence is a plugin update that white-screens the site, a developer who edits the live server, or a hacked WordPress install discovered when Google flags it — and then the discovery that the only copy was on the same server as the problem.
Off-site backup solves precisely that: your files and database are copied somewhere else, daily and automatically, and can be restored without involving anybody who bills by the hour. That is the whole product, and it is worth roughly what one hour of emergency developer time costs.
Your host may already take backups. Ask them two questions before paying us: how far back do they go, and can you restore one yourself without opening a ticket? If the answers are good, you do not need this.

Does my hosting not already back up?
Often it does, but frequently only a few days back and only restorable by the host. Ask how far back it goes and whether you can restore it yourself. If both answers are good, you do not need a separate backup.
How often does it run?
Daily, automatically, with the copy stored away from your hosting server so a server failure does not take the backup with it.
Can I restore it myself?
Yes, that is the point of it. Restores are self-service rather than a support ticket.
Does it cover the database?
Yes — files and database together, which matters because restoring one without the other usually produces a broken site.
