Register a .ORG Domain

.org carries an assumption of public purpose that no amount of design work can buy. For a registered trust, a society, an NGO or an association, it is worth more than the small price difference over .in — a donor checking whether you are real reads .org as a signal before they read your page.

That signal matters practically in India. CSR departments, FCRA compliance reviewers, grant committees and district administrations all look at your web address as a first-pass credibility check. An organisation running its correspondence from a Gmail address and a Facebook page is treated differently from one at contact@yourtrust.org, however good the actual work is.

.org is open to anyone — there is no non-profit verification — but registering one for a commercial business is a small dishonesty that visitors do notice. Use it for what it means.
