.biz is restricted by policy to bona fide business or commercial use — you agree to that when you register, and it is one of the few generic extensions with any rule attached at all. In practice it means fewer parked and speculative registrations, and better availability of ordinary trade names.
It reads as businesslike and slightly dated, which for some sectors is not a problem at all. Wholesale, logistics, industrial supply and B2B trading firms use it comfortably; a consumer fashion label probably should not.
Where it earns its place is the gap between a taken .com and an unwanted compromise. If yourfirm.com is gone and yourfirm.in does not suit an export-facing business, yourfirm.biz is a cleaner answer than yourfirm-exports.com.

Choose .biz for B2B traders, wholesalers, logistics and industrial suppliers — commercial operations whose customers are other businesses rather than consumers.
